Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the Western Zodiac also known as the Tropical Zodiac.

Sagittarius is symbolized by the archer and ruled by the planet Jupiter, who was also ruler of the heavens. Jupiter is the planet of good luck and many people born under this sign find themselves being struck by good fortune and giving it back to those in abundance around them. They tend to have an optimistic and good natured outlook on life as they tend to be very freedom driven and are always up for an adventure.

Sagittarius is represented by the color purple, the color often associated with royalty. Like the other fire signs they are fiercely independent, maybe even more so than the other two they share this element with because their quadruplicity is mutable, giving them more flexibility. This also makes it harder for them to commit to anything serious or long term like relationships or careers and they often find themselves comfortable doing things solo. It’s not to say they don’t enjoy companionship or work hard, because once they find what they are willing and wanting to commit to, they do so possibly harder than any other sign of the zodiac. Anything seems to be possible for a Sagittarius!
